Abstract

Because of the tilting related to the origin of the "Depresión Prelitoral" at the beginning of the Miocene transgression several olisthostromes were produced. Gravitational processes are believed to have been responsible for these structures, which are older that regional compressive tectonics. Olisthostromes and associated deposits are typically brecciated with calcitization and microsparitization reflecting a long history of subaerial exposure. Lithological and spatial features of these deposits form a basis for the following zones: nucleous, transition-front, and backside. A possible process of deplacement is considered.
