Abstract

Temperature, global and diffuse radiation and relative humidity were analysed on Livingston Island during the summer campaings of 1994-95 and 1995-96. The data were obtained at two stations: one located at the Base Antártica Española Juan Carlos I (BAE) and the other on Johnsons Glacier (JG). The variables at the BAE were correlated with those on the JG. The JG data series had a few gaps which were filled in by linear regression using the data from BAE. The mean daily evolution of temperature, radiation and humidity were characterised by means of periodic models. The relationship of temperature and cloudiness with respect to wind speed and wind direction was also studied. Some of the results obtained were compared with those obtained at the Antarctic Base of Bellingshausen.
