This article presents an annual index of industrial production in Andalusia for the period between 1830 and 1913 including energy, mining industry and manufacturing industry. The research provides a dual comparative and sectorial analysis. In that case, the data suggest that, in the South of Spain, the industrial output increases were quite moderate in the nineteenth century (2.46% per year): a tax that was lower than in Catalonia and the Basque Country, the most industrialized peninsular regions, but also lower than the Spanish average (3.48%). With regard to the industrial structure, Andalusia was always dominated by consumer goods, and particularly by food industry (vegetable-oil, wine and sugar industries).
