Abstract

This article starts from the belief that a war, even more in the case of a civil war, is an event that leaves a profound mark on the consciousness of the society which endures it, configuring and having an effect on its development. From this starting point, the article establishes a comparison between post-war poetry in Korea and Spain. These two countries, regardless of their very distant languages and culture, sadly share the fact of having suffered, first-hand, a cruel civil war during the twentieth century. Both wars lasted three years and were, in their own way, framed by the global context of the Second World War.
