Abstract

La presència d’or al·luvial a l’àrea pirinenca, ben documentada per autors com Plini o Estrabó, i la seva explotació al territori de la ciutat romana de Iulia Libica, pot estar darrera d’un sorneguer epigrama de Marcial (6, 86) que juga amb la imatge de l’or. La identificació recent d’activitats vinculades a l’explotació de l’or en època romana a la Cerdanya podria acabar de validar aquesta interpretació.
