Abstract

The article applies to perception of the concept of bad luck in several languages. It is considered the impact of psychological factors about how a given concept was conceptualized through the ages. It has an inherent relationship with superstitions functioning over the centuries among certain cultures. Associations, which are often rooted in superstitions or idiomatic expressions are the origin of linguistic conceptualization of the intended concept. The characteristics of the concept of bad luck is an important element of the linguistic picture of the world, which is described for specific languages ​​directly on the basis of comparison and differentiation.
