Abstract

Useful textures allowing caliche recognition in the fossil record are exposed. Fossil caliche outcrops from Catalánides Range are placed beneath "Bulimus" gerundensis level and in some of them Microcodium appears closely associated to the calichification process. Caliche rock is of pisolite type exclusively and detailed features are quite differents in each outcrop.
