Abstract

The first spore-pollinic data from the lignites of Calaf (Barcelona) are given. The Spores are the most abundant group. The Gymnosperms are not great in number: Pinus haproxylon-type, Picea and Eohedra together with Cupresaceae-Taxodiaceae. The wingless forms are more plentiful than the winged ones. The most numerous group corresponds to the Angiosperms which are represented by Palmae, principally Sabal, Oleaceae together with Engelhardtia, Myrica, of these forms are common with the macroremains of plants cited from the Cervera and the Serral outcrop. According to the mammal fauna Calaf lignites are Sannoisian in age.
