Abstract

We note below some of the main and most urgent problems identified in the Spanish prison system following the approach of his involvement with the fundamental rights of prisoners enshrined in the Spanish Constitution from 1978 and the Prisons Act of 1979.

Mónica Aranda Ocaña

Doctora en Derecho por la Universidad de Barcelona. Profesora del Departamento de Derecho Penal y Ciencias Penales de esa Universidad. Coordinadora del Área de Privación de Libertad y Derechos Humanos y miembro del Consejo de Dirección del Centro de Investigación Universitario Observatorio del Sistema Penal y los Derechos Humanos de la Universidad de Barcelona. Es además miembro fundador del European Group for Prison Research.
