This article analyses the benefits of embedding the Sustainable Development Goals (SDO) into the academic curriculum in Higher Education. To this end, we highlight the advantages of the service learning methodology and we relate a pilot experience involving a Business Administration and Management student working on a Human Resources Management project. The importance of service-learning as an active learning methodology is described, as well as the advantages and barriers of its implementation. This article relates the experience of a Business Administration and Management student who developed her Final Project through the service-learning methodology. Her project consisted in developing two formative workshops, aimed at secondary school students, on the topics of work and personal conciliation and on gender equality. The workshops were delivered successfully in secondary schools, and the student in question achieved the highest possible mark for her work. This paperalso analyses satisfaction scores and comments made by the student, her project supervisors and staff at the secondary schools receiving the service.
