Resum

In this article we will study the relationship between industry and the configuration of urban identity. We analyze the trajectory of a glass prodution company, Rigolleau installed in the southern metropolitan area of Buenos Aires at the turn of the twentieth century. We argue that the marches and counter of this company had a significant influence on the evolution of the city both in the local labor market, and the construction of the industrial identity. The questions guiding our work are: Why companies are installed in a particular locus? What is the tangible and intangible influence of corporations in the cities? How interweaves the history of the company and the town so that it will be impossible to separate the work in the factory from belonging to the community?
