Abstract

We argue that capitalism has escaped its overaccumulation crisis via the creation of space. We perceive the use of a series of strategies that come about in a particular place but are created most of the times in very distant locations – more specifically in the offices of large corporations. If the production of space takes place through the tension between the different social agents, social movements should become means of transformation. This is the direction we take in our work. We believe that the changes in the appropriation of space will materialize through the transformation of collective action into social movements with broader scope that bring together more specific and independent fights - of the so called minorities - into a broader and global struggle.
