Abstract

Countries as Bolivia and Mexico make use of high biological diversity. Another common characteristic in both countries is the presence of an important contingent of Indians people between its populations, many of which live in protecting areas. This work objective demonstrates the environmental politics developed by the two countries for the conservation of biodiversity before and after the Convention on Biological Diversity. For such, it analyzes the main politics implemented in these Latin American countries. It concludes that Bolivia prioritized with more success the maintenance of the traditional communities in the protected natural areas.
