Abstract

The accelerated expansion of the Buenos Aires metropolitan area shows a phenomenon of polarization that is translated in the landscape through the location of poverty and wealth enclaves. In order to exemplify this situation, we have selected some cases that will allow us to analyze the relationships in the structure of these enclaves and to define alternative ways to guide the local strategic planning, that tend to the sustainable development and to the controlled expansion of the peripheral areas.
