Abstract

The relationship between computing and historical demography has already a long tradition, although experiments haven't always been fruitful when it's about nominative microanalysis. We present the computer adaptation of the families reconstruction method made for the elaboration of a long-lasting microanalytic investigation in two inner Andalucia big parishes. We have worked with dBase and the result has had the consecuences of shortening subtantially some of the most routine tasks in the investigation and of saving an important amount of time. In the article, after tackling some of the computing experiments in historical demography, we analyse options and steps followed in the Henry-Fleury method adaptation, and routines and algorithms used are explained.
