Socio-spatial incidence of skatting movement in the city of Zaragoza from last Eighties

Abstract

The study of the squatting movement in Zaragoza through its acting forms and the organization of the espacios okupados y autogestionados (squatted and self-determinated spaces) shows up the existence of some asimetric belts of urban speculation around the center in a consolidated city, which removes the squatting movement till the last urban speculation belt in Zaragoza. Just another example on how economic speculation creates unwilled (by the citizenship) actions on society and space.
