La recreación de los mapas de Hispania de Plinio el viejo.

Resum

From the description of the Iberian Peninsula included in Plinius the Elder's Natural History (I b.C) it is possible to recreate a series of maps (coastline paths and hydrographic charts) with which the Roman naturalist could have counted. Up to now, the isolated analysis of the text and the individual search for ancient toponyms, have made it impossible to detect Plinius' descriptive system. By collating epigraphic, numismatic and literary databases, mostly available on the web, the Tabula Imperii Romani and bibliography related to each of the names; and after evidencing the descriptive logic of plinian geography, it has been possible to locate on a current map some of the Latin names of places which have not yet been reduced or which have been misidentified. We present, therefore, the resulting maps of Plinius' text study, as well as the description of the methodology carried out for their elaboration.
