Exilio y transcendencia

In the first section of this paper I take up conclusions from previous works on the signification of the exile and the forms it takes on in María Zambrano's work. These conclusions are redeveloped in the following section with particular focus on the complex way Zambrano assesses the exile. At several points of her work, indeed, Zambrano establishes direct connections between the experience of absolute loss proper to the exile and what she calls the ”lucid vision”, prompted by the exile, which lays bare the essence of being. The topos of existence defined as exile and the relation Zambrano establishes between absolute loss and transcendence give shape to the paradox that the exile is a creative experience and a method for recovering the unity of man and being.
The conclusion aims at establishing that the metaphysics of the poetic reason is an insight in exile and transcendence.
