La tête condylienne mandibulaire humaine (caput mandibulae): unité squelettique ou unités squelettiques?

A l’issue de l’étude téléradiographique en norma axialis de l’apophyse articulaire de la mandibule sur des observations de cas pathologiques et chez 5 paires de jumeaux monozygotes, les auteurs constatent une différence entre les deux pôles de la tête condylienne et concluent à une plus grande dépendance fonctionnelle de la zone médiale et donc à une discrimination entre deux unités squelettiques au niveau de «caput mandibulae».
