Abstract

We examine Martha Nussbaum’s Capability Approach (CA) as a theory of  justice and make explicit the conditions for a flourishing life. The thesis that guides the work is that the cognitive scope of affectivity, a subject dear to Nussbaum, allowed her  to theorize beyond the predominant ethics centered on men. «Ethical emotions» enable  the shift of CA and the recognition of rights in non-human animals. Wonder, Compassion  and Transition-Anger found a rudimentary idea of justice for non-human animals based  on CA.
