Abstract

Here is studied the Stratigraphy of Devonian from a part of Central Pyrenees (high Valleys of Esera and Pique Rivers), describing the formations and trying to obtain the paleogeographical evolution of the basin during this period. Lower Devonian is mostly formed by limestones, showing a continuity with Silurian; slaty Middle Devonian shows a progresive inestability of the basin leading to the zone's emersion during Famenian times; basin have not sedimenta- tion until Namurian times having paralic characteristics towards N and limnic ones towards S.
