Abstract

Major and minor element distribution (Na, K, Ca, Mg, Li, Rb, Sr, Fe and Br) in salts of the navarrese potash basin is studied. An asynnetrical basin model, with marginal brine accumulation is emphasized to explain some anomalies in the vertical distribution of bromine inside the salt formation. This formation is very similar to its homologous in the catalonian basin, both being of marine and primary kind «Transformed» sylvinite parageneses are of secondary origin after carnallite, as can be proved by pretrological,  geochemical and mineralogical criteria.
