Desastres tecnológicos: estilo atribucional y estrés postraumático

This research project aims to study the attributional response of victims of the gas explosions in the city of Guadalajara (Mexico) on April 22, 1992 and to relate it to the presence of post-traumatic stress syndrome. A sample of victims and a control group were selected, and pre-event features were evaluated in both groups. The results indicate a limited presence of post-traumatic stress in the victim group, and a statistically non significant relationship between this variable and the locus of control internal component. In general, a poor tendency towards intemalism was found in victims, which seems consistent with previous samples of similar characteristics.
