Nowadays, there are no existing instruments to assess the enjoyment experienced by adults in a generic way. For this reason, a scale which measures the enjoyment experienced in adults (EEAS) has been developed,
and some of its psychometric properties have been tested. Two trials were conducted; in the first (pilot study), 273 adults participated, the scale of seven items was applied, an Exploratory Factor Analysis was performed and purified. It was concluded that the scale was unifactorial and the internal consistency was adequate. In the second trial, 629 adults aged between 18 and 79 years participated, who responded to the EEAS (with 6 items, final version). Through a Confirmatory Factor Analysis it was confirmed that the internal structure was unifactorial. Regarding internal consistency, the Cronbach’s alpha value of the scale was 0.856; adequate, considering that it only has 6 items, which showed excellent psychometric properties. It is concluded that a scale is available to measure the enjoyment experienced in adults with adequate properties for the population of Michoacán (Mexico). Summing up, EEAS is available to measure the enjoyment experienced in adults in a generic way with adequate psychometric properties for the population of Michoacán (Mexico).
