Abstract

This article approaches the Catalan movement known as el procés from a psychopolitical perspective. Drawing on the founding tensions of the concept of political subjectivation (agency-structure and reproduction-transformation), we analyze the everyday experience of Catalan ordinary citizens showing the subjective expression of the ideological dynamics. Specifically, we focus on how the state logic is reproduced in the “psy” level (using the bourdieusian concept of habitus) working for/against social change. We argue that the political subjetivation approach offers a located understanding of the psychological unraveling its dilemmatic nature and transformative potential.
