The objective of the present study was to evaluate academic stress and their relationships with and academic performance in university students. The participants were 451 students from two universities from Alicante. their ages ranged from 18 to 30 years (20.52, SD = 4.80). Of these, 57.2% were women and 42.8% were men. The questionnaire RED_General or Questionnaire of Resources, Emotions / Experiences and Demands in users of ICT (2011), were applied. The results indicated moderately high levels of technostress among the students, with higher technostress being observed in the study sample when compared to the normative population. These levels were higher among the female gender, younger, of initial courses and of degrees not related to the use of ICTs. Likewise, it was found that technostress had a negative influence on academic performance. These data suggested the need to delve into this problem in order to reduce its negative effects among university students.
