Abstract

The general purpose of this work was to analyze the influence of values of employee and organization, over the organizational commitment and the organizational citizenship behaviour (OCB). In order to do this, we have taken under c onsideration, on the one hand, the direct influence of the values, and on the other hand, their indirect influence through the interaction of values between employee and organization. A total of 364 people at one organization completed surveys measuring the variables previously described. The results showed that the values considered independently were more important in the prediction of organizational commitment and OCB than the interaction of values. In the prediction of organizational commitment, the perceived organizational values were more relevant than personal values, and in the case of OCB different results were found according to the type of behaviour. Some practical implications are described
