Maltrato de mujeres y misoginia: estudio empírico sobre un posible factor explicativo
Keywords:
Misogyny, domestic violence.Abstract
Misogynist beliefs and attitudes may help to explain gender violence. This research analyses their possible role in domestic violence, comparing misogynist attitudes in batterers and non-batterers. The "Sexist Attitudes toward Women Scale" (Benson & Vincent, 1980) and "Husbandls Patriarchal Beliefs" (Smith, 1990) were applied to a sample of 142 victims of domestic violence and 142 female non-victims, who were asked about their husbands' attitudes and beliefs. Those results are discussed.Downloads
