¿Experimentos psicológicos a través de Internet?
Keywords:
Experimentation, experiment controls, experimental methods, experimental psychology, methodology.Abstract
In recent years, a number of researchers have chosen to post their experiments on web pages, and to wait for subjects willing to participate to contact them. Several universities have created special sections with this aim in mind. Needless to say, this research is restricted to Internet users, but still more important is the fact that experimentation of this kindhas its own methodological problems, similar in some respects to those of laboratory research, but quite specific in other respects. This paper aims to provide a review of the state of the art and a theoretical reflection. We analyze the specific characteristics of this new kind of experimentation as well as its possible advantages and weaknesses, stressing especially those aspects related to research validity.
