Abstract

This article aims to present the origins of Spanish green and black medieval ceramics collecting and historical-artistic first approaches. Although these pioneering efforts have been largely surpassed, since they responded to the spirit of an outdated time, their review brings together scattered news, sometimes already forgotten, and facilitates a global approach from which to build new discourses around this centenary topic.

Key Words: collecting, historiography, medieval ceramics, green and black, Paterna and Manresa.
