Abstract

Analysis of six coin hoards from the province of Cuenca (Spain), with disparate information, which have been dated to the first quarter of the 1st century BC. Its composition and its possible relationship with the Sertorian War are studied.

Luis AMELA VALVERDE

Luis Amela Valverde (1964) holds a PhD in Geography and History from the University of Barcelona, a PhD in Humanities, Art and Education from the University of Castilla-La Mancha and a PhD in Philology from the University of Barcelona. Member of the CEIPAC Research Group of the UB. He is the author of some twenty books and more than three hundred articles on the late Roman Republic and the late Hellenistic world, especially on the figure of Gnaeus Pompey the Great and the numismatics of the period.
