Los planos catastrales como instrumento de dominio.

Recomposición del primer mapa catastral de Busan (Corea del Sur) durante el periodo de colonización japonesa 1911-1914

Resumen

La elaboración del catastro tras la anexión japonesa de Corea (1910), revela nuevas estructuras de dominio y de fiscalidad en todo el país. La documentación que resulta de dicho proceso ofrece una rica información para analizar la transformación de la sociedad coreana del último siglo a diferentes niveles (histórico, antropológico, socioeconómico y urbanístico). Los planos del catastro constituyen de hecho la primera cartografía urbana moderna. En este artículo tratamos de entender el contexto histórico y socioeconómico en que se lleva a cabo el proceso; de describir en detalle la técnica, el método y la información resultante y de dibujar el mapa urbano de Busan, la ciudad donde arranca el dominio colonial por su cercanía a Japón y por el valor estratégico de su puerto, a partir de centenares de hojas del catastro. Esto nos permite comparar el dibujo resultante con la realidad urbana que supuestamente representa, y desvelar algunos significados ocultos.
