un obstáculo para el ejercicio hegemónico en la urbanización planetaria?

Resumen

Este artículo contextualiza el análisis de la hegemonía desde una perspectiva espacial. Para ello, se inicia con una discusión sobre la urbanización planetaria y la producción del espacio como spatial fix del capitalismo – lo que sitúa al espacio como instrumento clave para el ejercicio de la hegemonía contemporánea. El análisis discursivo del rechazo de dos planes para un nuevo parque nacional por parte de las comunidades alpinas de la Suiza italiana nos permite contextualizar «lo rural» como una fuerza política aún presente e influyente. Las comunidades que se reconocen a sí mismas como rurales no tienen ambiciones hegemónicas, pero pueden contribuir al surgimiento o declive de otros actores que, en cambio, desean luchar por la hegemonía. En este sentido, el documento concluye que, en una sociedad capitalista cada vez más marcada por la urbanización planetaria, es crucial, a la hora de analizar la hegemonía, tener también plenamente en cuenta a los actores rurales y no invisibilizar sus motivaciones, ya que éstas pueden alterar significativamente el equilibrio hegemónico existente.
