XX International Conferences on Political Philosophy
Introduction
Since 2004, the International Conferences on Political Philosophy have been an annual event, closely linked to the ongoing projects of the International Research Group «Crisis of Practical Reason», recognized as a Consolidated Research Group by the Generalitat of Catalonia since 2005. Over the course of nineteen editions, this event has become a significant moment for the academic community, promoting the recognition and impact of the University of Barcelona’s Faculty and Department of Philosophy within the social sciences and humanities.
The XX International Conferences on Political Philosophy, scheduled to occur on March 20-21, 2025, will explore Politics and Humanity in the Age of Artificial Intelligence, reflecting on the profound changes AI brings to political practices and human existence, including issues of authoritarianism, post-truth, populism and other possible consequences.
The event will also honor the important contributions of two key philosophical figures: Professors Emeritus Dr. José Manuel Bermudo and Dr. Norbert Bilbeny.
