Abstract

This paper offers a practical vision about the phonetic analysis from the speech therapist's perspective: in fact, as phonetic errors are only symptoms of pathological problems we must discover and solve these pathological problems before the phonetic ones.

The workshop intends in general to go over the problems related to different speech pathologies and their relationship with the possible phonetic errors that generate. It also intends to determine how to confront them and to what extent the knowledge on phonetics helps to solve problems in speech production and understanding.
