Sociolongüística quantitativa i anàlisi qualitativa de variables fonético-fonològiques: a propòsit del desafricament prepalatal
Abstract
The prime aim of this article is to deal with a methodological aspect, which has often been undervalued by Labovian quantitative sociolinguistics. I am referring to the poor treatment of the qualitative analysis, i. e. linguistics of the phonetic-phonologic variables.
In this sense, I would like to say that the support of experimental phonetics will become essential, not only for the empiric validation of the collected data, but also in the demarcation of richer and more specific allophones.
The main body of this paper is an experimental approach to the phenomenon known as the pre-palatal deaffrication and to the prescription of a variable rule which can be inferred from it.
