La ambigüedad discursiva de “La raíz humana de la crisis ecológica” en la Carta Encíclica Laudato Si’ del papa Francisco

In this paper, following contributions from Van Dijk (1994), Fairclough and Wodak (1997) and Pardo (2012), we have a critical discourse analysis of the Papal Encyclical’s third chapter referred to science, technology, power, globalization of the technocratic paradigm and the consequences of anthropocentrism. The ambiguity in a critical evaluation of science and technology, not considering them as constituent parts of the ecological crisis and also keeping a sense of nature to be dominated and transformed, could potentially be used by different actors and social groups to claim their respective ideologies and political agendas.
