Abstract

The objective of the current study is to introduce the fight of the Movimento dos Trabalhadores Rurais Sem Terra (MST); a Brazilian organization which, by means of pressuring the government, intend to cause a social transformation on both national and global level. To convert this goal into a reality, they propose to democratize land ownership, capital, and knowledge. These three ideas will be studied and discussed throughout the article and in the interviews to the members of MST during our stay in their settlements.
