The overall aim of this paper is to show how certain socio-cultural premises that belong to the culture of the Rio de la Plata (Argentina) reproduce and give way to gender violence. These premises that were in force in the 20th century have persisted through time and are manifested in the situations that triggered the impolite tweets for this study. Particularly, the research focuses on those premises that are emerging in opposition to sexism. For this purpose, nineteen tweets extracted verbatim were analyzed as reactions or answers to situations where the woman’s image is involved.Downloads
