Abstract

En las últimas décadas ha nacido una nueva idea de solidaridad. Con el "triunfo" de la democracia liberal, se ha creído que Occidente es el"mejor de los mundos posibles”. Consecuentemente, ha tomado forma la convicción, casi como obligación moral, de ayudar a los menos afortunados que viven fuera del sistema "perfecto" occidental. Sin embargo, debido principalmente a la reciente crisis económica, las ONG, históricamente consideradas el vehículo para enviar ayudas humanitarias, han empezado a actuar como empresas destinando gran parte de los fondos al marketing, haciendo pactos con las propias multinacionales y recortando dinero para los más necesitados: ¿Es esto ético y consecuente con las intenciones filantrópicas que deberían ser las propias del humanitarismo?
