Abstract

El discurso hegemónico dominicano —fundado en la colonización y retomado en el siglo XX por Trujillo y Balaguer— ha legitimado la hispanofilia y la negrofobia como bases de la identidad nacional, concibiendo lo dominicano como la negación del Otro-negro, del Otro-haitiano. A partir de esta idea se presenta una lectura vinculada a los estudios culturales y postcoloniales centrada en la presencia y desarrollo del sujeto haitiano en un corpus literario de reciente producción, formado por novelas, cuentos y poemas, con el propósito de reflexionar en torno a la problemática de la representación de estas subjetividades que han sido excluidas del imaginario social y su relación con la dominicanidad.
