Abstract

The main goal of this article is to analyze the character’s role in literary fiction from a perspective focused on the reader’s mind. In particular, the article reviews some different perspectives and approaches to the study of the relationships between author, text and reader, especially in Dostoevski’s literary works. The analysis aims to contribute to the study not only of Dostoevsky’s poetics and characters, but also of the conceptualization of the character as a set of overlapping discourses, which would help us to deal with some narratology issues.
