Abstract

This article identifies the discursive tools and rhetorical resources that link the novel Después de la ira (2018), by the Colombian writer Cristian Romero (Medellín, 1988), with the premises of ecocritics and ecofeminism. Among other elements, it focuses on analyzing the thematization of environmental deterioration, the representation of disease caused by agro-toxic substances, gender constructions in the characters and the presence of creatures that question the limits of animality and transgenic science. Altogether, these codes articulate an ecofeminist gesture, traceable in diverse fictions of contemporary Latin American literature.

Licenciado en Literatura Latinoamericana por la Universidad Autónoma de Yucatán (Mérida, México) y Maestro en Letras Modernas por la Universidad Iberoamericana (Ciudad de México, México). Coeditor del volumen de ensayos Cuerpos abyectos: infancia, género y violencia (UADY, 2017). Actualmente estudia el Doctorado en Letras en la Universidad Iberoamericana y es Profesor de Asignatura en dicha institución. Sus líneas de investigación son el ecofeminismo, los estudios de género y la representación del cuerpo y la enfermedad en la literatura latinoamericana.
