Abstract

The aim of this article is to offer a re-reading of the landscape of the Montserrat mountain range as a critical allegory in the writings by Goethe, C.-A. Sainte-Beuve and Ernst Robert Curtius. It focuses on how Catalan geography affects critical proposals such as these, which have become crucial in the history of literary criticism and comparative literature.
