Abstract

This article explores, first of all, the lines of visibility that trigger the invention of the hermaphrodite specimen within the biomedical field, in particular, from the second half of the 19th century. Secondly, this article focuses on the rewriting of the figure of the hermaphrodite within Intersexual Project by the artist Adiós al Futuro. This article will suggest an alternative to the scopic iatrogenesis present in the specimenization mechanisms of the clinical gaze. This will be suggested on the basis of the conceptualization of an intersex glimpse.
