Abstract

The paper analyzes the novel El Gusano (2018 [2021]), by Luis Carlos Barragán Castro, a work in which beings can literally fuse and obtain shared characteristics. We read the text of the Colombian writer as a posthuman mythology about the (un)becoming of the human species, first with respect to the post-human paradoxes of fusion, and second with fusion considered as a paradoxical anthropogenic mythology. The former will allow us to reach a conclusion to the dilemma that lies in the novel about making differences within a community converge.
