Abstract

This article offers a reading of La part del foc (2021), the second collection of poems by the Tarragona writer Pol Guasch. Following Margalida Pons’s work on the application of affect studies to poetic analysis, the aim is to study the coordinates in which the collection is located: language-affect-community, as well as the bridges that mediate the contact between them. We focus, first, on developing the relationship between language and affect, using the theoretical postulates of thinkers such as Gaston Bachelard and Marina Garcés, among others. We then offer a detailed analysis of the notion of community outlined in the collection of poems, in light of the above and in relation to the ideas of the French philosopher Maurice Blanchot.
