Sexualidad, ilegitimidad y etnicidad en la frontera hispanoamericana
Abstract
This article analyzes the development of the baptisms of illegitimate Spanish, indigenous and mestizo’s children on the southern frontier of today’s Bolivia, between 1790 and 1920. It comes as a surprise that this indicator shows more similarities than differences among the mentioned socio-ethnic groups. Our analysis explores the reasons of this result from three perspectives: the changes in the frontier the population under study had with the war like indigenous -the chiriguanos-; the distance between norms and practices; and the public appearances of the actors.Downloads
