The offense propositions consisted of expressions reflecting points contrary to the doctrine of the Catholic Church. Because of this, jurisdiction belonged to the Inquisition, which received accusations of this crime, including against the clergy for committing this transgression, especially during the sermons, so it is believed that caused confusion among listeners. But, was such outrage provoked among the population as a whole or only among the clergy? Was it perhaps errors of understanding due to the lack of education of preachers?, or was the pulpit used to express the Church’s confl icts? These questions will be answered in this text, located in Zacatecas during the sixteenth and seventeenth century.Downloads
