In the competition some scientists presented lectures were focused historical assessment of their disciplines, in this case, Medicine, Pharmacy, and Chemistry. The assessment was in line with the positivist interpretation of Mexican history by breaking scientifi c development in three stages: 1821-1867, 1867-1876 y 1876-1910. The last one included the presidency of Porfi rio Díaz and was rated as the boom period and modernization of Mexican science as an apology for the social crisis unleashed in 1911.Downloads
